A canker sore is a common form of mouth ulcer, which appears as a painful white or yellow ulcer surrounded by a bright red area. A canker sore can be triggered by emotional stress, dietary deficiencies, menstrual periods, hormonal changes, food allergies or trauma in the mouth. Canker sores usually heal without treatment within two weeks.

What do they?
Alone or in groups, the canker sores like a kind of small crater white, rounded and very localized (language, gums, lining of the mouth), which becomes painful every time we eat.

Where do they come?
If their origin is unknown, recurrences are often linked to dietary factors, infectious, hormonal and overwork. In case, acidic foods (citrus, vinegar), the gruyere, dried fruits, drinks too hot or very flat spices. The same is true with certain diseases of the liver, gall bladder or kidneys.

What are the symptoms?

Canker sores are usually found on the movable parts of the mouth, such as the tongue or the inside lining of the lips and cheeks, and at the base of the gums. The ulcers begin as small oval or round reddish swellings that usually burst within a day. The ruptured sores are covered by a thin white or yellow membrane and edged by a red halo. Generally, the sores heal within two weeks without scarring. Fever is rare, and the sores are rarely associated with other diseases. Usually, a person has only one or a few canker sores at a time.

Most people experience their first bout with canker sores between the ages of 10 and 20. Children as young as 2 years old, however, can develop the condition. The frequency of canker sore recurrences varies considerably. Some people have only one or two episodes a year, while others may have a continuous series of canker sores.

What can we do?
The problem is that there is no miracle solution. At most we can prevent their appearance by good oral hygiene. When canker sores are, will only take some months at least, they most often disappear spontaneously after ten days. In the meantime, it is better to remove food HIM. To ease the pain and reduce inflammation, the brush with a cotton swab soaked in an antiseptic solution can be effective. Although too, gargle (especially not swallow) a soluble aspirin.

Tartar is none other than the bacterial plaque that has matured and hardened in contact with mineral salts provided by the saliva and blood. This phenomenon is frequent in parts which are difficult to clean as the incisors lower molars and sub-gum.

How to detect?

Tartar by its rough surface irritates the gums, maintains inflammation (gingivitis) and exacerbates the destruction of tissue supporting the teeth (periodontitis). It also prevents the gum to accede to the tooth and prohibits effective cleaning.

How to disposal?

The pie thickens over time. It must be regularly eliminated by means of special tools used by a dentist. Scaling is the only way to fight against periodontitis. Some dentifrices limit the formation of plaque and inhibit calcification.

Remove tartar a root
Cunningly, stick it on the surface of our teeth, prepare the ground cavities, damaged our gums and lead to the loosening of teeth.

What is it?
When the last visit to the dentist is already far, it is just enough to pass language on the surface of teeth to feel his presence … “The scale is a hard and rough depot which is formed from the plaque composed of sagglutinent bacteria on the surface of the tooth, “says Adeline Hamet, dental surgeon. More exactly the mineralization of the plaque through the mineral content in saliva (and calcium phosphate).” The problem, is that this new form tartar can lead to the proliferation of dental plaque. A veritable vicious circle, which explains why, once in place, the depot can only increase. Then, it becomes complicated. Because the brush can not completely dislodge . And as a rule detartrage. “Irritating, carrying germs, tartar attack gums and deep, precise Adeline Hamet. This is the first step leading to the development of gingival and periodontal diseases.”

Toothpastes
All brands have their Tartar Fighting toothpaste. And their action is similar. They work by preventing the calcification of plaque. Some contain chlorhexidine, a potent antibacterial agents. It purifies the mouth, helps fight bacteria and limit the emergence of gingivitis. Others present a formula that combines saline sodium bicarbonate natural phosphates and for sea salt crystals. The goal? Activate the salivary secretion and allow Self natural teeth and gums.

Descaling
It is mandatory for brushing is not enough and must realize every six months with your dentist. It must involve all the teeth and the incisors not only lower their favorite terrain. The principle is simple. A sort of mini “Karcher” off all tartar restoring your teeth color and natural eclat. A brushing twice daily is then to limit its accumulation on the teeth. To this end, the floss and interdental brush accompanying allies are essential to dislodge debris in areas difficult. Just as revealing plates will tell you thanks to its red color traces forgotten.
